Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
Events Heaven (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates Events Heaven (the “Platform”) at eventsheaven.com. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and other applicable Indian law. By using the Platform you consent to the practices described here.
1. Data we collect
You give us:
- Identity & contact: name, email address, WhatsApp/phone number.
- Profile: alias, city/area and pincode (used internally for organising the community and meetups; never shown to other members), interests you want to learn, skills you can teach, and any other details you choose to add.
- Payment: processed by our payment partner (Razorpay). We do not store your full card/UPI credentials; we store transaction references and status.
- Communications:messages you send in circle chat, messages in private 1:1 conversations with members you’ve connected with, connection requests you send or receive, and any reports or support requests you raise.
- Circle activity: the meeting spot you pick, the themes you vote for, your RSVPs, and your attendance record for meets — used to run the weekly rhythm and to understand how circles are going.
We collect automatically:
- Device/usage data, and cookies necessary for login and functioning.
- If you turn on notifications, your browser’s push subscription (a device endpoint and its keys) so we can send you reminders. Turn it off any time in settings.
- Anonymous visit and page-load analytics, processed by our hosting provider (Vercel), so we can see which pages are used and keep the site fast.
- If you arrive from one of our ads, measurement cookies from Meta (Facebook/Instagram), plus a first-party cookie of our own that remembers which ad or link brought you here (for up to 30 days). We use these only to understand which ads work — we nevershare your name, email or phone number with advertisers. You can block them with any standard ad-blocker or your browser’s tracking protection, and the Platform will work exactly the same.
2. Why we use your data (purposes)
- To create and manage your account and subscription.
- To form circles and organise meetups.
- To process payments and issue GST receipts.
- To send service communications (welcome email, circle details, reminders, announcements).
- To keep the community safe (moderation, handling reports, enforcing the Code of Conduct).
- To improve the Platform and, in future, offer better-matched features. We will seek fresh consent where required before using your data for any materially new purpose.
3. What other members can and cannot see
- Only members of your own circle can open your profile. To everyone else on the Platform you are not visible at all.
- Shown by default: your alias, your short bio, and the topics you want to learn or share. You can switch any of these off at any time in your profile settings.
- Hidden by default: your real name and your WhatsApp number. These appear only if you switch them on yourself.
- Never shown to other members: your email address, your area, and your pincode.
- Your circle-mates also see non-identifying activity on your profile: how long you’ve been a member, how many meets you’ve attended, how many themes you’ve explored, how many times you’ve guided a week, and how many circles you’ve been part of. These power the badges on your profile and are visible to your circle without a separate toggle.
4. Sharing & disclosure
We share personal data only with:
- Service providers (data processors) who help us operate — e.g. database (Supabase), hosting and site analytics (Vercel), payments (Razorpay), email (Resend), and ad measurement (Meta) — bound to protect your data.
- Authorities, where required by law or to prevent harm.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. Data retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal/tax obligations (e.g. GST records), and resolve disputes. You may request deletion (see rights below); some data may be retained where the law requires.
6. Your rights (DPDP Act)
You have the right to: access a summary of your data; correct or update it; withdraw consent; request erasure; nominate another person to exercise rights in case of death/incapacity; and grievance redressal. To exercise any right, contact us at hello@eventsheaven.com.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures (access controls, encryption in transit, row-level database security so members cannot read each other’s private data) to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure; you share information at your own risk.
8. Children
The Platform is for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
